5 Healthy Meal Delivery Services

So I joined Weight Watchers online a week and a half ago. I had a lot of success doing the program in my twenties and while it’s definitely changed a lot since then, I’m finding myself motivated. I lost 3.4 lbs in my first week! So I feel like I’m off to a good start.

It feels reasonable and seems like it will be easy to follow once I get a handle on their points system again. I’m not going nuts with it – weekends I do fall off the wagon a little, but I’m promising myself that I will get back on if I do fall: it’s a long term thing.

One of the things I do find harder this time around than I did in my 20s though is the meal prep. God I wish I had appreciated all that free time I had in my 20s! These days, I definitely doing have to time to meal plan a bunch of recipes, organize and meander around the grocery store a couple of times a week.

I’ve used a few meal delivery services in the past but was surprised at the lack of choices when I looked up ones that either supported Weight Watchers or had “healthy” options for their meals. Organic, grass-fed, yes (which is great, of course). But low calorie or low-fat, not so much.

I did find a few though. Here’s the break down of what I found in case you are on a search as I was. I’m trying out Chef’dthis upcoming week so I’ll report back how that is.

Chef’d — Chefd.com is the only one that actually has a Weight Watchers meal delivery plan, which is what I was after. It’s not endorsed by Weight Watchers but then tell you your points in each meal and you’re basically ordering a meal at a time with this. Like I said, I’m trying this out this week but I literally selected my 3 meals from 6 meal choices for the week, so I liked that. I also like that it’s not an automatic subscription service. Some of the others I’ve tried in the past (Blue Apron, Hello Fresh) are great but they charge you weekly unless you cancel.

And of course if you aren’t on Weight Watchers, they have plenty of healthy options for you.

Fresh n’ Lean – Fresh n’ Lean has a diet delivery service if you live in one of the these cities. But even if you don’t, this one looked to be one of the healthiest and leanest to me out of all of the meal services I researched. Also? They do ALL 3 meals of your day (breakfast and lunch too!) so this one’s awesome if you have like zero time in your day to meal plan. Bonus: they’re REALLY vegetarian-friendly for all of you who are vegan or vegetarian.

Green Chef – all organic and all lean meats.

Diet-To-Go – There’s no funky diet system here, it’s just a meal delivery service that has done all the meal planning and shopping for you if you’re on a diet. Having meals delivered when you’re on a diet isn’t a new thing – these have existed for years before these family meal delivery services came on the market but Diet-To-Go is made of all real foods, which I liked. Downside: single person so you still have to cook for the fam.

Pre-Made Paleo – for those of you going Paleo (or Whole30, even!) – all the work is done for you. As someone who has done Whole30 twice, I say I really appreciate a meal plan that will make shopping and cooking easy!
