This post is sponsored by Paramount Pictures, all ideas are my own.
As you know, I’ve had a lot of changes this year. The most exciting and strangest time for me is that my oldest son has gone to college! All of the changes have really left me with a need for girl time.
This weekend, some of my girlfriends and I are going to sit back, relax, have my new favorite indulgence, a wine float (yeah, I said wine float, more on that below), and download the movie Book Club, which now available on iTunes!
Book Club is perfect for a Girls (of any age) Night In and the iTunes release includes hilarious bonus content, like the making of the film and deleted scenes.
I’ve moved in and out of several book clubs in my life, and the thing that ties them all together is the joy of connecting with other women. The movie Book Club is all about this kind of female friendship and has four inspiring and iconic Hollywood female actors together on one screen (Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen).
Book Club hits home the next chapter (pun intended) in life being the best chapter ever, and how it’s never too late to pursue goals, dreams, and wishes we conjure up. These are all messages that my friends and I need to hear right now as we move into sending our children to college, enter new relationships, and get older (and smarter).
Check out the trailer for Book Club below.
In addition to using this amazing “girls night in” movie night kit I received from Paramount, I’m making wine floats (in the Book Club wine glasses, of course) as our treat for the evening.
Let’s face it, combining wine and ice cream is basically all the best parts of being an adult.
There are lots of ways to make a wine float, but I really like using a Rosé or Moscato, any sweet wine, with sparkling water, vanilla ice cream, and super fancy cherries.
You could also use a bubbly sweet wine, like a Prosecco, if you want to go full wine and ice cream.
Throw in a few berries and you have a drink that looks sophisticated and hits all your cravings, too!
Get the recipe below. 🍷
- Pink Moscato (or any sweet wine)
- sparkling water
- vanilla ice cream
- jarred cherries (Bada Bing cherries are my favorite)
- Fill wine glass with two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
- Pour equal parts of sweet wine and sparkling water.
- Top with another scoop of vanilla ice cream, then top with a cherry.
- Add a straw and enjoy!
Book Club is also coming to Blu-ray on August 28th, so make sure you pick it up for your next girls’ night in, too!
